Funding
Since the founding of GIHG in 2005 the 'Annual Saint Patrick's Day Festival' in 2007 and 2008 have received a Dion Grant from the Emigrant Services Advisory Committe from the Government of Ireland through the Department of Foriegn Affairs.
Dermot Ahern TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs, awarded £3300 in 2006 and 2007. In 2006 £1500 of the Dion Grant was awarded towards the cost of The Festival. In 2007 £3000 was awarded towrds the cost of The Festival. GIHG have recently been informed that Michael Martin TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs, has offered £5000 towards The Festival in 2009.
GIHG wish to express our thanks to the Embassy of Ireland in London, the Irish Consulate in Edinburgh and the Government of Ireland for their continued support.
In 2008 Councillor Alan Stewart announced that The Festival would receive a Northern Area Community Grant of £5000 towards The Marquee from Glasgow City Council. We wish to express our thanks to the local councillors and other members of Glasgow City Council for their support.
GIHG seeks to raise money for The Festival through an annual Fundraiser in St Roch's Parish Hall as well as through Local and National Businesess. We always welcome funding and donations from individuals and groups or recommendations on how to raise funds.
The GIHG Management Committee wishes to express our gratitude and thanks to all those who contribute to and support The Festival and especially those who make it possible through their funding.
